Semester Test Preparation

 To begin with I'd like to say that choosing a career isn't a simple matter especially now when I'm only 15 and not mature enough. Firstly, you should consider all requirements of the job that you are going to choose. Secondly, you must be aware of all difficulties and disadvantages involved in this profession. Thirdly, you should know if this job is in demand now. Unfortunately, unemployment rate is very high nowadays and it's hard to find a job. Finally, you need to be realistic about your interests, abilities and personal qualities not to make a mistake. For instance, if you like singing in a band now, it doesn't mean you will be able to earn a living doing it in future. If you know English perfectly well but hate socializing you won't make a good interpreter.

As for me, at present I consider becoming an IT-worker. I want to follow in the footsteps of my brother, so I have the first hand information about this profession as my brother has shared his experience with me. There are many advantages and disadvantages to doing this kind of job.

  One of the main advantages of being an IT-worker is that it is interesting. You can learn a lot of new things. To be an IT-worker is very exciting, because you will be able to make a hacker. Moreover, this work is in demand, especially now, so it is well-paid. According to my brother, you can earn a lot of money working in this sphere. Furthermore, you can get a promotion in this job. What is more, you can improve your foreign language, English, for instance, speaking with foreigners. In addition to that, you work steady hours. I think it is convenient because you will have free time after work.

  On the other hand, there are disadvantages to becoming an IT-worker. Firstly, this job is tiring. You sit all time and move little. It is an exhausting job; it spoils your eyesight, because you have to look at the display. Moreover, it can be boring, because sometimes you may get a task you are not interested in. Besides that, you need to be qualified to make a career. If you don't know enough, you won't get a job.

  Also, I know that a good professional in this sphere should be imaginative to do creative things. IT-worker must be skillful, because he should do his work well. A good professional in this sphere has to be open-minded to learn new things about computers. Furthermore, an IT-worker needs to be polite and friendly, because sometimes he needs to speak with clients. In addition to that, he must be accurate to do everything in time. An IT-worker has to be organized to do quality work.

  All things considered, becoming an IT-worker is a good choice for me because in my opinion, I'm suited for this occupation. First of all, I am aware of all the drawbacks and disadvantages involved. In addition to that, I am organized, imaginative and skillful. Moreover, I am interested in computer science, math and English. Anyway, I still have two years ahead to make a final decision. But now I know for sure that I must focus on such subjects as math, English, computer science and literature because they will be necessary for my future career.
