Feeling and Emotions

All people have emotions and feelings. We feel different things all day long as different things happen to us. Our emotions can be positive and negative. As for me, I think I am a happy, cheerful and optimistic person and I am mostly in a good mood.

  I feel glad, when I cheer people up. I feel refreshed, when I walk in the park. I am surprised, when I get presents. I feel interested, when I read interesting books or articles. It is relaxing to have a bath. It is satisfying to do handmade crafts. It is fascinating to make people happier. I am an optimistic person because in any situation I try to find only pluses and don’t notice the minuses, for example, if for some reason I didn’t do my homework and got a bad grade. I argue this way: at the next lesson, you need to accomplish this task, come up to the teacher to apologize and explain why I didn’t do my homework, and ask for a chance to improve your mark. And I think that even if I don’t manage to do it, it will be an incentive for more active work in the classroom to get good marks and block bad ones.

  However, everyone has negative emotions from time to time. I feel exhausted, when I come home from school. I feel depressed when the weather is bad. I feel sad when my mother is stressed. It is dissatisfying when people tell a lie. It is disgusting when people make nasty things to each other. Sometimes I feel pessimistic, it happens that I have a bad, depressed mood which can last quite a long time. This is most often manifested when I'm just tired of everything and I want to go somewhere to the forest and sit with nature in silence and this will be enough. But since I myself still can’t go to the forest, I have to pull myself together and fight against the bad mood.

  I think it is OK to feel sad, lonely, angry or any other normal human emotion. But it’s not OK to let negative emotions take control of you. We must learn how to be the boss of bad feelings. We should learn to control our bad feelings and to think positively. Remember: if you are a positive and friendly and happy person, then you will attract other positive people. If you feel really negative, feel sad, angry and want to hurt people, then you will find that you attract other people who are sad and angry.
