After Her Lessons My Mood Usually Rises
By Sasha Bobrova, 9c

Among the teachers who have taught me through my school life Tatiana Leonidovna is the one I admire the most. She has been teaching me Ukrainian language and literature for 5 years.

I`ll never forget the first time I met her. She introduced herself as our form mistress and I took to her at once. She seemed to me so patient and her calm voice cheered me up. The excursion about the grammar school, which she conducted, was very interesting, so I understood that she loved children. It wasn`t long before I realized how supportive and fair she was. Tatiana Leonidovna possesses such qualities essential for a good teacher as creativity, good sense of humor, tolerance, work experience and unbelievable energy. I respect her because she is reasonably strict. She can be furious at times, but she calms down very quickly.

She always tries to treat us with respect, I don`t remember her ignoring our opinion, hurting our feelings or interrupting us. Sometimes she can lose temper and make sarcastic comments in class, and that is very annoying in my opinion. However, as a rule Tatiana Leonidovna is very polite and tactful, she has never humiliated us. Also she is caring, that is typical of form mistresses. She is able to cheer everybody up, even if they are in a very bad mood. She gives us huge support and praise, not every teacher can do that. She is too fair, but it gives only positive results, as all bullies will be punished if Tatiana Leonidovna is near. As I have said she loves all of her pupils and isn`t indifferent for us. She doesn`t plays favorites, explaining that we are all her favorites. To my mind, we can trust her. She loves to lecture a lot and share her experience, truly sometimes it`s very useful, but often it`s not. Nevertheless, I understand that she tries to help us in our future and I am very grateful for that.

After her lessons my mood usually rises and I feel refreshed. It`s because of the magnificent atmosphere she creates. Tatiana Leonidovna tries to come to the lesson with positive attitude, so we feel very comfortable when she is in a good humor. The way she presents and checks material makes the atmosphere better. She has never been cast down; our form mistress is always full of energy and ready to teach us. She is capable to make a lesson like a big adventure. You will never get bored with her. I appreciate that she always tries to interest us in her lesson and does it very well. As for me I am extremely amazed at her lesson organization, she demands too much of us, but gives us only positive grades. She can explain dull material in an interesting way, for that she uses handouts to provide information missing in our textbooks, she gives unusual and bright examples to help us understand, she surfs the internet looking for test games and beautiful pictures and videos, she makes us think logical and carefully prepares for her subject. Tatiana Leonidovna teaches every student differently, she has an approach to everyone. She gives chance to the students with bad marks to work at their own pace, also she encourages them. Her door is always opened for conclusions or for pupils who want to retake the tests. Unfortunately it`s impossible for her to keep strict discipline without yelling or being rude. (We forgive her). To my mind the biggest pros of her that can grade papers in no time and announce the results. If you don`t like your mark come after classes and she will explain your mistakes. I’ve forgotten to mention that she has never assigned task without explaining or made us write tests without giving the chance to revise.

I feel fortunate to be taught by Tatiana Leonidovna. She gave me vast knowledge of Ukrainian literature and Language. Thanks to her I have become a winner of competition named after Taras Shevchenko many times. But what is more important, she made a great impact on my personality and shaped my character. I shall always be grateful for making me work up to my capacity and helping me to discover my talents.
