The Teacher I Admire Most
by Roman Bryzhatiy, 9a

Among the teachers who have taught me through my school life Irina Volodymirovna is the one I admire most. She has been teaching me the Ukrainian language for 5 years. I’ll never forget the first time I met her. I took to this teacher at once. Irina Volodymirovna understood that we were a little bit confused because we had recently transferred to secondary school. She helped us to adapt in secondary school and gave us some advice. It wasn’t long before I realized how organized and reasonably strict she was. She possesses such qualities essential for a good teacher as tolerance, creativity and enthusiasm. I appreciate that Irina Volodymirovna is firm, fair, supportive and respectful. I adore that our Ukrainian language teacher has sense of humor.

I strongly believe that good relationships are the key to effective learning and if students respect the teacher they’ll do their best to learn the subject. In my opinion, Irina Volodymirovna isn’t easy and pleasant to deal with. She often loses temper and shouts on pupils who never do their HW. On the other hand she’s polite and tactful and always sees our opinion. This teacher isn’t indifferent to her pupils and she never humiliates us and never hurts our feelings. Irina Volodymirovna never plays favourites and thinks that all pupils are equal.

I always look forward to her lessons. I feel comfortable in the atmosphere she creates at her lessons. Irina Volodymirovna comes to the lessons with a positive attitude. She always explains boring material in an interesting way and prints handouts to provide information in the textbooks. She gives a chance to the students who have academic difficulties. However she never gives big encourages those who have difficulties. Irina Volodymirovna punishes students who don’t work at her lessons. And if a student never works her lessons she threatens to call parents and after some time she calls them.

I feel fortunate to be taught by this teacher. She gives vast knowledge of the Ukrainian language. But what is more important, she made a great impact on my personality and on our class too. I shall be always grateful for comfort, advice and support she gave me whenever I needed. She helped some pupils from our class to raise their self-esteem. And I’m happy that Irina Volodymirovna and her subject helped me discover my talents.
