  Everybody knows that sport is an interesting free time activity. We know that physical exercises improve our health and build stamina, also they train our muscles, lungs and heart so we become stronger. Sport is especially necessary for people who study or work mentally. I think that these people after an hour walking in the fresh air will feel refreshed and ready for more mental work. And thirdly sport builds character. It helps to develop many good features of character such as confidence, self-discipline and team spirit. It also teaches to be reliable, responsible and to overcome difficulties. Some kinds of sport teach self-defense, some develop sense of rhythm and balance.

And how about me? What role does sport play in my life? In my life I took up a lot of sports but soon I gave them up. When I was studying in the thirds grade I took up dancing but soon I gave it up because I had no time. I also took up swimming, gymnastics, hip-hop and others activities. Some time passed and I decided to start doing something interesting for me. I tried many different sports but I finally decided on track-and-field events. But I think that in future I would fancy taking up equestrian sport. So what is the essence of this sport? Track and field events is an Olympic sport that includes cross-country types, race walking, all-around, running, cross-country and technical types. Athletics is usually called the queen of sports, because it is one of the most popular sports. Usually athletes train at a stadium, it can be in an enclosed area and in the open air. Most often this is a football field which is surrounded by tracks. Track and field athletes use a lot of equipment. Most often these are barriers of different height, also use spears for throwing, pads for starts, weighted balls, dumbbells for exercises and a lot of others equipment.

If you began doing track-and-field events you will improve your health and features of character, you will become stronger, tougher, train body, and heart, and lose weight. If you do the exercises incorrectly, you can twist/sprain or hurt yourself. Do you really want to be in the hospital? Imagine what will happen if you dislocate your leg. You will not be able to walk in the future. It is also very easy to twist/sprain hand or leg if you are not warmed up. There is one more weak point like muscle fever which in sports medicine is called “delayed onset muscle soreness” (DOMS).

Now I attend the club which is located at the stadium “Evis”. It is located near the bus stop ”Evis” after Vodoprovodna. I attend it three times a week at 16:00 on Mn, Wd and Fd. Training session lasts 1.5-2 hours. Our trainer, Alla Fedorovna, is CMS of Ukraine. She is my trainer, she helps me and gives me her support. I am proud that she is my trainer. In order not to get hurt at first you should warmup. Secondly you must be careful doing different exercises and thirdly you should be attentive to other track-and-field athletes. Our training goes this way: first we stretch and get warmed then we run different distances (30/60/ 90/200/400m) and do long and high jumps, after this sometimes if we have free time we play volleyball or knockout.

I do my best to show good results. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose when I participate in competitions. I don’t give up and I would never do it. One of the most important pros of this sport is that it builds character and teaches to win and to lose and to be determined.
