Sherock holmes club: Roman Holmes, 11b

The Harwood Butcher
Roman Holmes, 11b

Yesterday morning, 22-year-old Italo-American ― Tommy Vercetti appeared in Criminal Court of the City of New York accused of massacre. The judge sentenced him to life imprisonment. Vercetti was a professional handgun shooter; he was arrested last May in Harwood Park (New York) as he had murdered 10 people (Vincent Vega, Jules Winnfield, Harvey Keitel, Freddie Newandyke, Larry Dimmick, Ordell Robbie, Mark Dargus, Edgar McGraw, Frank O’Neill and Andrew McGregor).
The evidence was provided from the park’s cameras – the massacre was shot, but the face of the murderer couldn’t be seen.

Vercetti had gone to the café where he had a meeting with Vincent Vega in a café who was later found stabbed to death in the WC. Then Frank O’Neill entered the WC and Vercetti shot him and escaped from the murder scene. In the hall there were Edgar McGraw and Andrew McGregor who tried to stop him, Tommy shot them from pistol and went outside. Meanwhile someone from café called the police. Near the café a car was parked. Tommy shot the driver but the passengers began to shoot back. Vercetti killed the passengers but he was injured in the leg and tried to drive away. Meantime, Harvey Keitel, Freddie Newandyke, Larry Dimmick came out through the back door and started fire, Tommy hid behind the car and fired back. Freddie and Larry were injured, Harvey died on the spot.

Vercetti was stopped by the police when he was trying to drive away out, police found his pistol in the car but his knife wasn’t found. He was delivered to Prison Hospital in Rockland. Tommy had received three gunshot wounds; however, Tommy stayed alive what can’t be said about Freddie Newandyke and Larry Dimmick who died in the hospital between 15 and 17 May.
As Vercetti walked into the courtroom yesterday morning with his lawyer he told that he was a target of contract killing and that all his victims were presumably hit men or gangstas. Jury didn’t believe him because there had been no reason to hire 11 bravos to kill a common guy who worked at an auto service (of course if he didn’t belong to the ethnic gang, which Vercetti denied) and came to conclusion that Briggs was guilty. But it later it was found out that Vincent Vega was accused of mercenary, Frank O’Neill and Andrew McGregor were presumably members of IRA so all actions of Vercetti could have been self-defense but this was the only evidence in favor of Vercetti.
Tonight his sentence has been changed from life imprisonment to 15 years in prison.
