Car Theft
Investigated by Valeryi Holmes, 11a

Yesterday, the car Toyota Corolla 2010 was joy-ridden nearby 27, Central Avenue. The owner of Toyota is a 32-year-old businessman. He phoned the police yesterday evening and informed about the car theft. A police detective arrived at midnight to the crime scene.
It was thoroughly investigated, and the police detective found a few evidence:
• a sign of tracks, which directed straight from the place where the car had been parked;
• a piece of windscreen - the car window might have been broken by a joyrider;
• a trinket with the picture of mountains - the businessman confirmed that it was his trinket. Some finger prints were found on it.
The detective found out that the car was of white color with numbers BH 009 CK. On the bumper there was a dent. The vehicle’s interior was leather with a tiger pattern. The businessman said that a special program was installed in his car that would help to find Toyota.

Then the police detective started to work with a search system and they found the car with the help of the satellite. This satellite had connected with the program and the car was found. It was parked in the yard located over 360 meters from the crime scene.
It was about 6 a.m., but the investigation was going on. The police detective decided to question a witness. The old man informed that he had seen a tall guy in a light denim jacket, blue cheap jeans and torn shoes who approached the car. In a few seconds the suspect joy-rode in the car and left the crime scene. Unfortunately, it was the only witness who had been questioned. While getting all the evidence in one clue, detective noticed a man who fitted the description. They followed him, and arrived at the yard where the car of the owner was, so the car thief was caught red-handed. The policeman handcuffed him and he was kept in custody.
The young man gave testimony but didn’t confess in stealing the car. The case was brought to court. It was the minor crime, but the judge, jury and prosecutor were unanimous. The joy-rider was found guilty. He was fined $2500, and was made to do community service.
The car was returned to the owner, the crime had been successfully investigated, and the criminal was punished.
