The Princess Diaries
Marina Ikonomu, 7a

I have read Renata Panfilova’s book The Princess Diaries. The book is written in popular English. It can be easily read by people with an elementary level of language. The book itself is written in the form of a diary of 14-year-old girl.

Mia Thermopolis lives with her artist mother and her cat. She lives in an apartment in Greenwich Village. She is an ordinary New York teenager. Ordinary, that is, until Mia finds out the shocking truth from her father - she is a princess! Then her grandmother came. She began to teach Mia how to be a princess. After the extra Algebra lessons Mia has Princess Lessons.

Mia has a lot of interesting situations. For example, once she was sent to the principal Gupta`s office. This happened because she durtied the girl’s sweater with ice cream. That girl was Lana. Also Mia wrote a formula in Algebra on the sole of her shoe. She missed one lesson of Algebra and she worried not to pass the test. At school she tried to clean it because she was afraid that someone can see it. She could see the formula on the test, but it didn’t help her. She answered all the questions wrongly.

The plot of the book corresponds to the film of the same name with Anne Hathaway, but this book is only the beginning of the film.

I think that this book is nice, interesting and fascinating, so I like it.
