Seven-Day Magic
Sasha Bobrova, 7c

On these holidays I read the book Seven-Day Magic by the famous writer Edward Eager. This book is very interesting and cool and I like everything in it.

The book tells us about five children like us. One day they went to the library to borrow some fantasy books to read and found a magic book which granted wishes. Children agreed to take turn to make wishes. Every wish took all children to an in interesting adventure where they tested courage, love to their family, friendship and logic. But most of all I liked the following adventure.

The first wish was made by Frederica. She was the youngest in this group. She took the book into her hands and wished adventures like in her favorite book ‘Wizard of Oz’. But nothing happened. So they decided to go home. On the way they noticed a little house with an interesting sign ‘SLOW! CAT ET CETERA!’ The children stopped in front of the house and suddenly something flew away out of the window. That was a red dragon.

All children were scared but Frederica wasn’t, she looked at the dragon with interest. The dragon looked at Frederica with interest too, and then it caught her in its paws and flew away with her. After that frightened children met an old wizard and he agreed to help them to catch the dragon. With his landlady and cats the magician and children flew after the dragon on wizard`s house. When they caught up a dragon they fought with it. They deprived it of fire. When the dragon lost his pride he began to shrink. When the dragon was as small as a mouse one of wizard`s cat ate it up.
(Cats rule the world, I’m sure)

So, I think this book is very interesting and good. It teaches us to read more books and with their help to develop our fantasy, to make our wishes right and believe in magic.
