EVERYTHING THAT DOESN’T KILL US IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE US STRONGER: TOP Rules for Teachers from Students

Daria Pavlova, 10c

We all know the rules, duties, and what pupils and teachers in school should fulfill. We don’t want to constantly follow the rules, because we don’t like to be controlled. I am sure that students do not agree with many of the rules that teachers impose. I decided that we need to come up with new rules that can be FUNNY, but every student would like them.

Here is my TOP of the best rules from students for teachers:

- Teachers should not scream at the children. Now there are many stories when staff yell at school because s/he does not know or forgot something. I think this is wrong.

- Admitting your mistakes is normal. Everyone can make a mistake, this is not good, but there is nothing wrong with that. Many teachers think that they are perfect, but if they agreed with their mistake, the children would respect them more.

- “Do you at least understand the children?” It is necessary to meet in some moments, somewhere to sympathize, hug, encourage, praise everyone or in private, support a joke.

- Pupils are children. We are also tired and we want to take a break, so why not joke? It takes a little time, but then the energy appears to work, and the teacher becomes loved, because s/he is so cool and funny.

- HOMEWORK !!! This is the worst word a student hears every day. Many teachers think that their subject is the one and the best and give a lot of homework. However, we have a lot of lessons and everyone assigns us homework, and besides school we have trainings, tutors, and other things ... So why not give a little less tasks?

- Teachers, try to look good. Children spend all day with you and they would be pleased to look at a stylish, beautiful teacher.

- Give interesting tasks. Everyone can say the page of a book for reading and give a task for solving. But it would be great to work in a team, do interesting creative tasks. It is not difficult, but school life would be bright, not gray and boring like a dusty book.

I think everyone can add to this list with their own rules. Today I talked about my TOP rules for teachers whom they could adhere to. The rules are easy and clear, but why then many do not pay attention to this?
