Sports activities and any physical activities provide great benefits for people. But there is also another side. Athletes sacrifice their health and sometimes even their lives to achieve heights in this or that sport.

Each athlete exposes his body to maximum stress, which is bad for health. Most often, athletes have heart problems. Due to excessive loads, the heart beats constantly accelerat. This causes heart problems. Since 2000, 45 football deaths have been officially recorded in football, the main cause of which was heart attacks.

Injuries are also very common in sports. The most traumatic sports include: rock climbing, horse riding, hockey, football. There are cases of deaths in extreme sports:

  • base jumping - 1 out of 30 athletes die;
  • skydiving - the main danger of parachuting is getting into the air stream behind the aircraft because of which 1 person dies in 100 thousand jumps;
  • auto racing - during the competition, 1 out of 100 participants dies;
  • hang gliding - 1 out of 560;
  • motorcycle races - 1 out of 1000.

Every athlete wants to win a competition. Often for this, athletes use illegal drugs. Anabolic steroids, growth hormones, insulin and other drugs harm the human. In addition, it makes the competition dishonest and it kills the interest and the desire to win.
