Essays Providing Solutions to Problems
Changes in School System

Current school education is an ongoing concern which many pupils have to deal with. Fortunately, there are a number of possible solutions which could change the quality of education for the better.

To begin with I want to say that in Ukrainian secondary schools almost all subjects are compulsory. For this reason pupils have big workload and their education become more boring for them. We don’t have an opportunity to choose subjects which we need in our future and we waste our time on other subjects to have a good mark at the certificate.

The most effective method to improve our education is sufficient financing, consequently our schools would have necessary equipment for many lessons(chemistry, physics, computer science) , for example at one of the most educated country, in Japan Gross Domestic Product is about 5.96 trillion us dollars. Clearly, financing is very important to solve this problem, but there are a lot of other solutions.

I think our school curriculum must be changed and Ukrainian Ministry of Education should follow the suit of some western countries, where school curriculum are compiled in a wiser way. The best way to change education would be organizing specialized forms, where pupils could study necessary subjects for their profession. As a result their knowledge would be better. Also, number of pupils in each form must be reduced, for example in Finland there are for about 16 pupils in a form. Thus teachers will pay more attention to every student.

I think, it’s a good idea to add more subjects which would develop our imagination and teach how to be successful in current world in time of global economy. Lessons that a student doesn’t consider to be important must be studied as elective courses, for example art culture or Technologies. At my school the elective course of the Ukrainian language is obligatory and I understand that it’s important for me.

All things considered, our system of education has positive and negative aspects, and if our Ministry of Education improves it our nation will be more literate and competitive in the modern world.
