JUNGLE
by Sofia Senchina, 8d

Francis Clarke is an archaeologist and biologist of one of the most renowned universities specializing in this. This summer, she went on an expedition to the Amazon jungle to explore new unseen plants and look for the remains of ancient civilizations that might possibly be there. But at one point it could have ended badly.

Summer 2019. Francis got to Amazon jungle with her expedition team: Jake, Lily, Adel and others. They tried to stick together and not go far from each other so as not to get lost, but just in case they had walkie-talkies. Every day before dusk they were taken away, and every day at dawn they were taken back to the jungle. Nothing special happened. Lily found a rare flower, and Jake found a new species of grasshoppers. So a month passed.

AN INVESTIGATION INTO A SEVERED ARM
by Maria Kaminskaya, 8b

Night. Screaming. Banging. Cracking glass. Slap. Frightened neighbors, bloodied body by the entrance. I remember that night well.

Recently, I moved out of a place where I spent my entire childhood and settled on the outskirts of a small town. Unfortunately, I had bad luck with my neighbors. Right in front of my apartment, there was an unbalanced man, and as I suspected, not a sane man. His name was Andrew, he was often complained about by the tenants of the house, he could put a knife in blood under someone’s door (actually it was in jam), he could stand for hours outside someone’s apartment and have a vicious laugh and a lot more that a normal person would not do. Of course, everyone was afraid of him. No one came close to him or his apartment, if there was anything left to expect.

One day, it was, like, Wednesday, and I came home exhausted from the robot, but I couldn’t sleep at all. Towards midnight, strange noises were heard in his apartment, someone was screaming as if he had been cut, the blows were heard, it was really scary to even hear. Then I heard the sound of broken glass, which was very disturbing, but what scared me the most was the scream of Lyuda’s neighbor. I ran outside and I froze in terror.

by Alexandra Kaltashkina, 8b

James, a teenager who was living in Italy was the son of a powerful man who watched every his move. But every night when the boy was alone he used his window as a portal to travel the world. He had been to different places (once even to the space), fighting villains like a true superhero or just enjoying the views from his private jungle flat.

James opened the window and enjoyed the night air. The air was a little salty, and he could hear muffled voices from distance. Without thinking, he jumped out of the window and found himself in the... - ZOO? Is that a joke? - The place was not at all what the rich boy had expected. - I was thinking of moonwalking today or... - Suddenly, James heard a knock. The noise from cages. As he walked a little further he realized there was no one around and all the cages were empty except one. In one of the cold and wet cages sat a gorilla with dirty fur. The boy jumped back shocked.

by Vlada Borisenko, 8d

"There it is," he whispered to Bill. Slowly he raised his gun, aimed at the dark shape, then fired. Missed He aimed better. Missed again. Due to the cold, windy weather, his hands did not obey him. Suddenly, a dark figure began to run towards them. Jake and Bill didn't know what to do. "RUN!!!" - said Bill.

They were running up to the house when suddenly they saw him. They couldn't see his face, but it was a really huge figure. He did not need a weapon, because he was is strong enough to defeat everyone. By then, Jack and Bill had come to the rescue. They slowly, almost silently, began to surround this dark figure. MUTANT WOLF
by Victor Sharga, 8b

Jake and Bill were siblings. They became farmers one year before when they had built their farm on an island. Brothers bred valuable black silky sheep. They had a herd of 500 sheep. Their business blossomed and their sheep bred well. There was plenty of grazing space and sheep were gaining weight well. Farmers sold wool and meat and made good profits.

But unexpectedly, sheep began to disappear, one at a time. They disappeared in a strange way, at night and quietly. Dogs didn’t bark.

Brothers decided to set up an ambush. Jake and Bill were walking through the moonless forest. The snow was falling silently around them. It was about midnight and they were feeling tired. They looked through their binoculars at the sheepfold hoping to see something. Suddenly, Jake stopped. What happened made his hair stand up. A strange creature approached the sheepfold. It was large, about the size of a bear, and resembled a dog. It had a scary muzzle. The creature was grey. Dogs looked at it quietly. It grabbed a lamb and ran away. “There it is,” he whispered to Bill. Slowly he raised his gun, aimed at the dark shape, then fired. Sadly, he missed his shot.

Diane Brooks, who was a Chief editor of world-famous fashion magazine “Harper’s bazaar”, was sitting at her wooden desk in her office. In the yellow pale light, she was finishing the next issue of the magazine. She was very proud of her new article, because their paparazzi had managed to take provocative photos of how a very famous model and Instagram star Kendall Jenner had been driving a car when she was drunk a couple of days before. It was about midnight, incredible moonlight illuminated her office, thousands, if not millions of stars were seen in the clear sky, which so inspired and soothed Diane. She felt extremely tired after the hard day, her eyes were closing, and she yawned all the time and was ready to get sleep right at her table. SCARED TO DEATH
by Ivan Onischenko, 8b

“Help!” - Sarah was scared to death. She was at home alone while her husband was at the office. At first, she had been very bored, so the girl decided to watch the film IT, which her friends had recommended to her. Sarah was not a horror fan, but her friends had convinced her, although she was very terrified. She watched half of the film with closed eyes, and when it ended, she was trembling all over and could not get up from the sofa. Suddenly from the basement Sarah heard someone laughing. “Who is it?” - she asked. The girl decided to get up from the sofa and went to the basement. When Sarah turned on the light she saw a huge clown with long and sharp teeth. She was incredibly frightened and panicky. She ran out of the basement and went to the bedroom, where she hid in the closet. Sarah gasped at fear. She was shivering and biting her nails. She heard the steps of the clown. Suddenly, the monster opened its doors to the closet and Sarah fainted. “I won't do that anymore” – said Sarah’s husband when the girl came to her senses. It turned out that he wanted to congratulate her with Halloween. The man had bought a clown costume and persuaded their friends to recommend a movie to Sarah. “I love you, forgive me please!” - he begged.
