NARRATIVE: Favourite Creature

My Favourite Creature in the World
Written by Julia Tsvetkova, 11B

“Oh, my God! What is this?” wondered my father gazing at the kitten. My mother and I were woken up by this exclamation.

The night before my mother and I were returning home from our friend’s wedding. My brother had stayed at my grandparents because he was little and he would interrupt. My father had not come with us because of his work. He should be at home the next morning. That’s why my mother and I had been the only representatives of our familly. So, it was brilliant night, the leaves on the trees calmly rustled and it was neither cold nor hot. Perfect weather for a stroll! There were no cars, which usually hoot in congestion and make you feel annoyed. Only occasionally cars with twinkling headlights drove by breaking this harmony. We were in two quarters from our house, when I noticed a miniature kitten. It was so beautiful that I could not pass this fantastic creature. It looked at me and I understood that I must take this charm to our home. Besides, this animal was very tender and intelligent. It began to grumble and rub against my legs and my mother’s legs. I still could not grasp why Mom let me pick up this kitten, because my parents had been worried about new repair in new apartement and they had been against animals in flat. All in all, that night was a night of wonders, as I eventually took this kitten home.

NARRATIVE: Hell

Hell
Written by Maria Kostenko, 11b

There was no pearly gate… The only reason I knew I was in a cave was because I had just passed the entrance. The rock wall rose behind me with no ceiling in sight. I knew this was it, this was what one could read in horrible stories, that people feared... I had just entered the gate to hell.
I felt the presence of the cave as if it was a living, breathing creature. The terrible stink of rotten flesh overflowed me. I peered into the gloom and noticed chicken’s carcass and dirty feathers around it. Then I heard the threatening voice, it came from inside and all around.
"Welcome"
"Who are you?", I muttered timidly, trying to keep my composure.
"Do you know who am I?", the thing answered frantically.

NARRATIVE: Disney Princess

Disney Princess
Written by Daniil Kardashev, 11b

Have you ever wished to have totally unforgettable holidays? I certainly had until my birthday in April. Bright morning sunlight shone through the window by my bed when I woke up. I was lying there for a few minutes. Then I recalled about my birthday. I immediately jumped out of the bed and yelled, “MY GIFTS!!!” I noticed, that my parents were extremely hilarious. I understood that it looked like they were up to something and since that time I was peeping for their movements. Long tiring hours had passed before my parents came up to me and told, “We know that you absolutely fond of Disney’s films and cartoons, so we decided to visit Disneyland in Paris at this weekend. What do you think about it?” I gazed at them and began to smile feeling totally fascinated. The gift that has had the most resonance for me and all my birthday parties was my trip to that land of magical castles, princesses in cotton candy frills, and electric-light parades!!!

NARRATIVE: Who Was He Talking About?

Who Was He Talking About?
Written by Anna Gaisha, form 11b

It was December. 10 am. I woke up. Freezing Iowa winter had eventually come. The 84th Street was full of purely white snow that covered roofs and porches of the decorated houses in our neighborhood. Men were banging and pounding with their shovels, trying to clear their cars from snow. I opened my window and breathed in fresh morning air. After my usual non-exciting morning routine and after putting on the coziest sweater I found, I came downstairs to eat some breakfast with my host dad. The rest of the family had gone to the neighboring city, so there were only two of us. The TV and fireplace were on; sweet warm pancakes were on the dining table… My host father was casually sitting on the couch, updating his Facebook page, occasionally peering out the window. What a typical beginning of the weekend! But today something was different. He was not smiling. Even his friendly“Good morning, Anna. Did you sleep well?”, did not help him to hide disappointment and anger.

NARRATIVE: Do Not Open.EXE

Do Not Open.EXE
Written by Dan Kotov, 11b

Last year my attention was attracted by the growing interest in a cyber-legend about an .exe file, called “do not open”. Besides, what also excited my brain was the alluring obscurity of this myth. The story told about a mysterious file, opening which will drive you crazy. However, for the reason that my character is more skeptical, I didn`t honestly believe in this tale.

My dance club organized a huge party for all their joiners and guests that were going to come. So I decided to celebrate Halloween there. But at fist MY Halloween party was held in my home. So I looked forward to that all-day event.

The preparations took a long time. I and my father did the shopping. We bought a big pumpkin for the jack-o’-lantern. Of course it wasn`t easy ‘cause there were not many round pumpkins at the market. Then I helped my mother to cook the food. I could smell the pumpkin pie cooking. I couldn`t wait to try it. We prepared enormous buffet with really delicious snacks. Most of all I liked cookies in form of ghosts and bats. I cleaned the house and decorated it with spiders, web and scary pictures that I had drawn before. And after that all we were waiting for my friend Andrey. We put a great amount of work into the party.

My godfather ordered an enormous cake. We invited relatives from different cities of Armenia. My parents hired a professional DJ. Also they hired live music.
