Mr Yang was very rich. He has come up with candy that was healthy and incredibly tasty. When he started releasing it, people really liked it. So Mr Yang became famous.

Review of The How To Be British Collection

I have recently read the book under the title The How To Be British Collection, written by Martyn Ford and Peter Legon. The book consists of humorous short guides about living in England. Every guide is a separate chapter that reviews one popular stereotype in an instructive manner. In addition, every story is followed by a hilarious little comic or caricature. As for me, I especially loved the chapters that completely match with my ordinary everyday behavior.

Let`s begin with the chapter Terms of Endearment, that I considered to be one of my own shtick. It tells about one curious Britain feature – giving people pet names. The authors present it as something that tourist shouldn`t be surprised of, although they advise reader not to come up with their nickname ideas for others, as it can be offensive. So the tip is clear - your response to such peculiarity must be a friendly smile. In my case, I have been calling my friends “darlings” as long as I remember myself, and giving them their own funny pet names. I think they`re okay with that. I want to believe that.

How To Be British

Recently I have read a book from the collection How To Be British. It was written by Martyn Ford and Peter Legon. This book contains 32 chapters. They all are about British traditions and things that you must do to become a True Brit. I really enjoyed reading them, because all chapters are very interesting and exciting. Now I am going to tell about 3 chapters, that I enjoyed most.

Chapter 6. Complaining. This chapter tells us what British people cannot stand. They can't stand, when someone makes a fuss. An example of fuss is complaining about poor service. The Brit says "Just think for a moment, would you like to do their job?" So, the idea is that you may purse your lips or grit your teeth; you may raise one eyebrow quizzically, but don't complain.

I have recently read the book under the title The HOW TO BE BRITISH collection. The book was written by Martyn Ford and Peter Legon. The scene is laid in Great Britain.

This book tells about what rules every tourist should know, and what kind of character the British have, their rules of life, their home life ... I also learned a lot of interesting facts about the British, about how tea appeared in their culture, how to prepare Fish and Chips, how they drive on the roads, the rules of greeting and even how they sleep. I liked the following chapters most: 9, 21, 24 because in my opinion they are the most interesting. Chapter 9 Pronunciation. This topic is very interesting because thanks to it you can develop your diction, and learn to speak English correctly and quickly. If you learn at least a couple of these tongue twisters, then your speech will be more melodic. Because the main thing – it is not important what you say if other people cannot understand you.
