Peace and Love in Our World
Written by Maria Oberemok, 10a

This is a heartwarming story about a great love. The best thing that people can do, and the most magnificent emotion, which we can feel deeply, is love.

A young man (I will call him HE) and a woman (I will call her SHE) loved each other more that their lives. They were extremely happy together, and it seemed that nothing could separate them.

But, in November 2013, frightful events began in Ukraine which changed all Ukrainians. HE and SHE were real patriots, who were capable of everything for the sake of peace and freedom. So, he resolutely decided to protect our afflicted country in the East. His sweetheart also was full of boundless love to their Homeland and she begged him to let her go together with him.

The Fifth
Written by Valeria Makeyonok, 10b

The colony was noisy and crowded. There were cells, filled with cockroaches and rats, walls which had long been for youngsters like native home. Some of them had never even seen their  homes. There was weeny life under their belts.

Lieutenant Lavrov was smoking in the courtyard, leaning against the wall that connected the piece of the roof and the floor. His gaze was sliding over faces of young offenders. He had been working here just for a week, and everything seemed so new and frightening. His mother always said that he could have become a good doctor, and now, remembering her words, he was afraid that he had made the wrong choice.

Written by Valeryi Dychakovsky, 10a

It was an entirely nasty windy and rainy Sunday evening. Mark was nervously waiting for a call from hospital. His wife had got into an absolutely horrible car accident and injured herself seriously. Doctors immediately took her to the hospital. Mark desperately appealed to them for help .
Mark was about to go into hysteric, he tried to distract from the terrible thoughts but in vain. Every minute he peered at his mobile phone, waiting for relieving news, but nothing happened. Mark couldn’t wait too long, so he frantically grabbed his coat and hurriedly dashed to the hospital. Unfortunately, he had forgotten his umbrella, so he got entirely wet.

Friendship With a Tragic End
Written by Olga Bogachova, 10b

Someone still doubts that the expression "like cats and dogs" expresses the possibility of friendship. Because cats and dogs have totally different temperaments and characters. For example, a dog raising his paw to a cat may mean he wants playing, but a cat can take it as a sign of an attack. In addition, by nature dogs often chase things smaller than them, including cats. However, relationships between them are possible, depending on their personalities and their owners’ patience. What do you think? In reality there are a lot of absolutely amazing examples of friendship between them, and this is one of them.

Changes in School System
Maria Oberemok, 10a

Current school education is an ongoing concern which many pupils have to deal with. Fortunately, there are a number of possible solutions which could change the quality of education for the better.

To begin with I want to say that in Ukrainian secondary schools almost all subjects are compulsory. For this reason pupils have big workload and their education become more boring for them. We don’t have an opportunity to choose subjects which we need in our future and we waste our time on other subjects to have a good mark at the certificate.

The most effective method to improve our education is sufficient financing, consequently our schools would have necessary equipment for many lessons(chemistry, physics, computer science) , for example at one of the most educated country, in Japan Gross Domestic Product is about 5.96 trillion us dollars. Clearly, financing is very important to solve this problem, but there are a lot of other solutions.

Changes in School Curriculum
Anastasiya Grinuk, 10b

Dear Ministry of Education,
I am a Ukrainian senior school student and I am writing to tell about our school and to put forward a number of suggestions that would help to solve the problems with our school curriculum.
As you know educational system in Ukraine is quite complicated. Unfortunately almost all subjects are compulsory as I am senior student I am not satisfied because there are a lot of subjects that I don’t need to study because I have chosen my specialization and I need an opportunity to focus on main subjects that I need to enter a higher educational establishment.

Changes in School Curriculum

As a senior student, I’m not satisfied with our current school curriculum. Firstly, there are too many unnecessary subjects, which won’t be useful in our future. Secondly, the system attempts to pile up too much information, which is hard to be learnt and remembered. Consequently, the amount of HW is simply huge due to the amount of the material. So, Ukrainian school curriculum is an ongoing concern which every pupil has to deal with. There are a number of possible solutions which could make our education easier and much more interesting.

One way would be for our Ukrainian Ministry of Education to follow the suit of some western countries, as France, Germany or GB. School curriculum is compiled in a wiser way there. For example, senior students in GB have a restricted number of subjects. The core subjects are English, Maths and Science. If our education gave us the possibility to choose subjects, we would understand that we work for our future.

Changes in School Curriculum

In Ukrainian secondary schools almost all subjects are compulsory. Being a senior student I am not satisfied with our current school curriculum. Obviously, our current school curriculum should be changed. I think that Ukrainian Ministry of Education should follow the suit of some western countries where school curricula are compiled in a wiser way. For example in Great Britain senior students focus on only three or four main subjects which are necessary to pass the advanced level exams to enter a higher educational establishment.
In my opinion, the curriculum should be changed only for senior formers because they are mature and know what profession they will choose and what subjects they need to focus on. As for pupils of the fifth – ninth forms, it is necessary for them to study all subjects. As a result, they receive basic education which is needed for all modern people. On the other hand they get an idea what subjects they are good at and what subjects they are bad at and what occupation they might like in future.

Changes in School Curriculum

It goes without saying, that education is an important part of our life, because school gives us a secure base. This base helps us to enter senior life. However, of course there is something that everyone wants to change.
Firstly, I’m not satisfied with current school curriculum and timetable due to the fact that there are days on which the timetable consists of hard subjects. It results in huge amount of homework, enormous number of lessons and no time for revising. It becomes harder to get profound knowledge and to cope with all assignments.
Obviously, our school curriculum should be changed because we have a huge number of obligatory subjects which wouldn’t be necessary for us in higher education establishment.
